Storyboard vs Timeline

Two views of the same video — Storyboard for building your shots, Timeline for arranging them against music and voiceover.

Two views, one video

Storyboard and Timeline are two ways of looking at the same composition. Switch between them using the toggle in the header.

Storyboard

A grid of shot cards. Use it to write and plan your story shot by shot — add shots, reorder them, and edit each shot's image, prompt, or dialogue.

Timeline

A video preview with a scrubbable timeline underneath, showing rows for your shots, music, and voiceover. Use it to arrange shots against your audio, trim or reposition clips, and preview the assembled video.

Which one to use

  • Start in Storyboard to build and generate your shots.

  • Switch to Timeline once you're ready to layer in music and voiceover, fine-tune pacing, and preview playback.
